I put forth my contender for the worst commercial of Super Bowl XLVII. I just found it very off-putting. Dodge (or Ram, as they now seem to market their truck brand) was doing nothing but playing off of the emotions of farmers and their families. From my point of view, they were simply exploiting the image of a traditional American farm family. (Keep in mind I grew up in a small farming town, so I’m bringing that baggage to the table.)

Overall, I just didn’t appreciate the fact that the company/brand was 1) over generalizing the life of an agricultural worker, and 2) that they tied ALL of this back to God creating the farmer. It seemed to elevate the farmer above all other lifestyles, which contradicts many of the humble attitudes of the farmers who I know personally.
